Happy April Fool’s Day
The distractions never lessen do they? I remember when I was at a less advanced position on the wisdom food chain, day like Groundhog’s Day were special. Well that and living in Cleveland, you always talk about the weather, especially snow. Drew Carey did skits on it in the late 80’s and 90’s prior to landing his big break in the “Drew Carey Show” on ABC.
But as long as some small group is claiming a day I claim today, this day claimed by fool’s to be a true American voter holiday. The same fool’s keep running and the same fools keep voting for them. A recent podcast on the Jason Stapleton Program (available on Itunes, youtube, others) hit the nail on the head with this Affordable Care Act stuff.
Republicans rose up in righteous indignation as the Democrats held secret meetings in order to craft a bill that we needed to pass inorder to understand the benefits, to paraphrase the Representative from California the Minority Leader of the House, Nancy Pelosi. The Republicans claimed they needed the House and Senate back, check, check. That having control of the Legislative Branch was not enough the Executive Branch was needed to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Check. Now all they are talking about is replacing. You ran on repeal, repeal the law. This is my added to cents to Jason’s eloquent use of the English language to say in a polite way, you liars!! Give the power of caring for oneself to the individual, not the State. For is the State so valued Life, abortion and the death penalty would not be permitted in this country, and I for one cannot abide by a State entity being in charge of my life and health when it does not respect life as a general practice.
It comes down to this one question. Who do you trust with making the appropriate decisions to extend your life by medical procedure or practice? If you answer yourself or your spouse or family you are correct. If you answer the government, please step over to the side and get on this train right over here. Yes, listen to the fellow yonder with the German accent he will direct you to your next step in the process.
It is April Fools Day after all. Fool’s need distractions, oh look a squirrel.
